Renovation Project of Machiya Guest House in Mibu

We supported the renovation project in Mibu for the overseas customer who bought unrenovated Kyo-Machiya. We tried to keep the traditional and authentic atmosphere that the house itself originally had and at the same time considered how to enhance the comfortableness.

• Used traditional colour for painting of facade. The circle window was inspired by Genko-an temple.
• The walls of entrance space use white colour, that makes the space bright.
• Bathroom space is made of tiles and stones. A garden view from bathtub would bring truly relaxed time.
• The floor uses coloured Tatami mats that shows checkered pattern.
